Home Stories of Change
Purnima Vanthala, a 10 years old child, daughter of Mr.Vanthala Sadher & Mrs.Gurubuddi, resident of Kinjara village, Dumburiguda mandalam in Visakhapatnam, presented to Out Patient Department of Paediatric Ophthalmology on 02-07-2011 via a screening camp held by our hospital at Endapalli village. She gave history of injury to right eye with a stick 2 years back while playing with her friends. Following the injury the child developed pain, redness, watering and diminished vision in RE. Her parents on knowing about the injury took her to a local quack who prescribed some native medications which symptomatically reduced the pain & redness in RE. Parents noticed that child continued having poor vision in RE, but in view of financial constraints did not take the child for an eye check to an eye hospital in the last 2 years.
